The SurTec-Forum cannot be anonymous for this reason. It should be common sense among all legitimate users that everybody has to register before being able to contribute something. Additionally, the user database will be reviewed frequently by the SurTec forum team, and for certain reasons, user registrations might be removed from it.

For this reason, the SurTec forum sends automatically a request of confirmation of the registration to the given e-mail address. By this way it is assured that the given e-mail address does exist, and that a counterfeited registration can not be successfull.

Who suffers most, is the person who is bogusly registered, SurTec suffers less from this. The aim of SurTec is to reduce the inconvenience for this person caused by others as much as possible. At the same time it should be possible to proceed against this sort of falsification of documents. For this reason, the e-mail with the request of confirmation contains also the time stamp together with the internet address from which the registration was issued.
